This time I wish to commend the work being done by the Norwegian School Associations in Greece and in Cyprus. During childhood one has great abilities for learning languages (we are many who have experienced how that becomes more difficult later in life). For Norwegian children who live abroad it is of value to learn to speak Norwegian, even if it is not widely spoken at home or among friends.Read more >

Learning Norwegian
	The interest for the Norwegian language in Greece is growing. At the University in Athens’ Department of Foreign Languages the courses are filled up with doctors, lawyers and black metal fans. Read more >

My Norwegian Experience
	Not many Greek students think of Norway as a natural place to study. For Giorgios Liassas the answer was obvious. He studied computer science in Trondheim through the Erasmus programme. Read more >

The gift of growing up multicultural

Mastering more than one language is a great asset in our globalized world. Appreciating our linguistic diversity is also a way of creating bridges between people. Norwegian children growing up in Cyprus and Greece are lucky to be taught their mother tongue by committed and enthusiastic teachers. Berta Papadopoulou, founder of the Norwegian School Association in Cyprus, spoke to us about how children can learn Norwegian in Cyprus.Read more >
