The completion of the construction of the new Holmenkollen ski arena has set the standard for future arenas. On 3 March the opening ceremony was held. 21 contestants participated in the opening jump. First jumper in this innovative hill was female Anette Sagen. And 8-10 000 spectators attended the event. The new hill has a critical point (k-spot) of 120 meters. This will give jumps as long as 140 meters. On March 13 and 14 the two first world cup competitions in the new hill will held. And next winter the world championship in ski will be in Holmenkollen, Oslo.
It is also possible to visit the top of the ski tower (from summer 2010), where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Oslo and the Oslofjord.
