One of Norway’s most beloved choirs will be the final act at the Rhodes festival.
“Sølvguttene” (Silver Boys Choir) – has performed at some of the most prestigious concert arenas in Europe, such as the Saint Peter’s Church in Rome, Berliner Dom and Westminster Abbey. Sunday the 27th of September offers an unique chance to see the choir in Greece, when they perform at the Music Festival in Rhodes.
The choir was founded in 1940 by the late Torstein Grythe and especially their Christmas concerts have become a tradition in Norway. Several of the choir’s recordings have sold to gold. Sølvguttene is conducted by Fredrik Otterstad.
The program will include works by
Edvard Grieg: ”I Himmelen” and ”Ave Maris Stella”
Knut Nystedt: “Pål Sine Hønur”.
Andrew Lloyd Webber: “Pie Jesu”
Händel: “Halleluja”
Mozart: “Ave Verum Corpus”
The concert is held under the auspices of the Norwegian Embassy and Norwegian Institute in Athens.
