Maria, born 1986, has talent in the family as her father, originally from Nicaragua, is a drummer. She started writing songs as a way to deal with her feelings after her parents divorced when she was 11. This resulted in the Norwegian release of the singles Fragile (Free) and My Lullaby in 2002, and the follow-up album Another Phase.
