If an ongoing, good-looking woman is approaching you in Greece this fall, don’t be afraid. She only wants to invite you to her peep show - a puppet show challenging myths about love and the relationship between men and women.
This is what the puppets look like from inside. Photo: www.skromlehjulet.noKjersti Iversen is a Norwegian puppet maker, and she is one of the many skilled artists attending the
«International Puppet & Mime Festival of Kilkis» in September and October. According to Iversen, her show is something quite extraordinary.
Three spectators at each show
- Each show last for six minutes, and it’s all about love. We challenge myths about love, and also myths in the relationship between man and women, explains Iversen.
As you can see on the picture above, there’s only space for three spectators at each show.
- So it’s quite intimate. The three spectators put on their headphones, and through a small opening they have watch into a small box. Here the puppet show takes place accompanied by music and a short movie, says Iversen, living in the city of Stavanger, Norway.
Invite them to a peep show
She has a special kind of approach when it comes to inviting people to her show.
- I walk around, dressed as a «bimbo». Then I ask all kind of people, old and young, if they want to attend my peep show. Most people associate a peep show with something sexual, so I meet many skeptical eyes. But most enjoy the show a lot when they are convinced to attend, says Iversen.
She thinks that her peep show will fit the Greek audience perfect.
- The Greeks, as most southern Europeans, are a very emotional people. I think that makes them more receptive for a show that is all about love, passion and the relationship between man and women, says Iversen, adding that she is really looking forward to present her show for the Greek audience.
Iversens peep show is free of charge – if you dare to attend.
