For yet another year, ECOWEEK in Athens brings together the best among ecologically minded-architects, designers, young professionals, and graduate students. It will be a week filled with various workshops and lectures given by several international speakers. Amongst these is the Norwegian architect Hilde Sponheim.
ECOWEEK’s workshops and conferences will take place in Athens from December 12-18. See the entire program on ECOWEEK’s webpage.
One of the speakers at ECOWEEK is the Norwegian architect Hilde Sponheim. Sponheim is a partner at LPO architects, which is an Oslo based company known for projects like the Bellona house. With a master's degree in architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Hilde Sponheim is working mainly with urbanism and urban development topics, and she has experience from challenging tasks dealing with sustainability and environmental issues.
These are also the issues she will discuss in her ECOWEEK lecture at Amphitheater, Technopolis on December 16th. (Free admission). She will talk about green architecture, focusing on Norwegian conditions, and the possibilities and challenges in this region of Europe. She will present sustainable urban development projects as well as relevant architectural projects, and explain some about Norwegian perspectives in the debate on sustainable and eco-friendly design.
Architect Hilde SponheimHilde Sponheim's lecture is made possible thanks to the cooperation and support of the Norwegian Embassy in Athens and the Norwegian Institute At Athens.
Since 2005 ECOWEEK has invited internationally acclaimed speakers, expert architects, landscape architects and engineers to give lectures about their projects, explain how 'green' buildings work and how we design and operate them, to lead design workshops and share their experience, expertise and skills with young professionals, and to give us insights and inspire us about sustainable solutions in design and beyond. In 2012, when ECOWEEK will take place in the Greek town of Thessaloniki, the Norwegian architect Cathrine Vigander will be one of the speakers.
