Ibsen's A Doll's House in Athens

Henrik Ibsens play A Dolls House is back at the Studio Mavromichali in Athens.

A Dolls House was written by Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen (1828 – 1906), and is one of his most famous plays, performed around the world even today. The play was controversial when first published, as it is sharply critical of 19th century marriage norms. Ibsens many plays have been performed several times in Greece all the way back to 1900.

The play was shown this winter and is now back at the Studio Mavromichalli. The play features Konstantinos Sirakis as Helmer and Despina Ponga as Nora. Translations by Errikos Belies, director is Kostis Kapelonis, and music created by Vasilis Babounis.

A Dolls House is shown at Studio Mavromichali, Mavromichali street 134, Athens, Wedensdays at 20.00 and Thursdays at 21.00 from April 8 to the June 10.
