Extreme Metal veterans played their first show ever in Greece.

The Norwegian metal band Enslaved played for the first time in Greece on 22nd of February, to the great pleasure of the Greek metal fans. Enslaved plays progressive and experimental extreme metal, and has released several albums since the beginning in 1991.

On their website, the band expresses great appreciation of finally getting a chance to play in Greece. Despite the country's metal history, Enslaved states that they never had the chance to come and show the local fans appreciation for their support through the years. With a promise of playing a full set of their material over the years, from the 1993 album “Hordanes Land” , to “Vertebrae” (2008), expectations are high when they arrive on stage in Athens.

Enslaved won the Norwegian “Spellemannsprisen” for best Metal album 2008 in January, after being nominated with other bands Keep of Kalesin and Benea Reach. This was the third year in a row the band won the prize.
Enslaved was formed in 1991, and today consists of Ivar Bjørnson, Grutle, Cato Bekkevold, Arve Isdal and Herbrand Larsen.

Grutle Kjellson, singer and bass player, says in a statement on the bands website that rumours of the best audience there have reached him ages ago, so playing in Greece is something he has been looking forward to for a long time.
