The Embassy in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute at Athens participated for the first time with a stand on Norwegian literature at the International Book Fair in Thessaloniki, 29 May - 1 June.
In our effort to present and promote classical and contemporary Norwegian litterature, the stand included new editions in english from large publishing houses in Norway, books that have already been translated into greek, the Norwegian Institute’s publications and general information on Norway.
Time for festival also in Lillehammer!
The Norwegian Festival of Literature at Lillehammer, 27 May - 1 June - the largest of its kind in Scandinavia - is in its fourteenth year of existence. The festival is an annual non-commercial celebration of literary endeavour attracting around 20 000 visitors. The festival is designed to address topical literary, social and political questions in a series of seminars and public debates open to wide audiences. We do not shun polemical and provocative approaches. Each year we invite around 30 foreign publishers and translators, literary associations and literary critics who meet almost all of the Norwegian literary world.
