Back to the 80’s with Datarock

Datarock wants to take you to the time of track suits, synth and drum machines. They will play in Athens on Thursday 4th March and in Thessaloniki on Friday 5th March.

The synth-pop / electro-rock quintet from Norway, in the matching red tracksuits and sunglasses as their image trademark, are playing two live shows in early March at Kyttaro in Athens and  Block 33 in Thessaloniki. Entrance fee is 20 Euros, but at the show in Thessaloniki the pre-sale tickets will cost 17 Euros and 20 Euros in the door.

Carrying three commercially successful albums in their luggage and their smash-hit “Fa-Fa-Fa”  a song which has even been used in a Coca-Cola TV advert and in video games like FIFA 08 and The Sims 2. These young Norwegians are already considered one of the most innovative hopefuls of future alternative music.

Datarock have made their way in the music industry bearing extravagance as their banner and have named their soundscape and general attitude as “retrofuturism” Every album acts as a tribute to the 80's, giving new breath to the possibly most underrated and misperceived musical decade ever. Notably, all instruments used to record and perform their latest album Red have been manufactured before 1983.

Each and every one of their concerts is accompanied by a breathtaking show of another dimension, which makes it impossible for anyone not to put on their dancing shoes. Right where Duran Duran and the Pretenders meet Moby and the Gorillaz, their fusion of dance-rock sets a magical scenery for endless fun and dancing. The concerts are held with the financial support of the Norwegian Embassy.
