Pondus is a Norwegian cartoon written and drawn by Frode Øverli.
Øverli started his career in the mid 1980`s in the Norwegian magazine Pyton, before he in 1996 made the comic A-laget (the A-team), which soon became what we today know as the cartoon Pondus. Øverli has also created Rutetid and Riskhospitalet.

The man himself
The main character Pondus is a former bus driver, who now enjoys his days as a barkeeper. Pondus is a big fan of the band AC/DC and the football team Liverpool, much to his wife Beate's frustration. They have two kids together, Påsan and Frida.
Pondus best friend Jokke is renowned for having a somewhat extraordinary fascination for strange looking women he meets at the pub, amongst them Pony-Petra. Jokkes mother and her German boyfriend Günther are beloved characters in the comic, along with a range of neighbours, colleagues, Pondus' dog Bjarne, and other fascinating personalities.
The cartoon is produced in a stripe format but also as multiple-page stories for Christmas albums and other albums, and has been a regular in the newspaper Dagbladet since 1997.
