"The home of the great Viking warriors, with its towering mountains, dazzling glaciers and thundering waterfalls, will take your breath away." This is how the magazine 2Board starts it's description about Norway and it's fjords in their latest issue. The Athens airport magazine has named their October-December edition "The Green Issue" and focuses on how to travel eco-friendly.
Under the title "Paradise Found", the top seven green destinations in the world are picked, with the fjords of Norway as the first.
The desciption continues: "There is so much to do and see that you are in danger of a nature overload. Explore the stunning fjords by following the coastal route by car or take a cruise and gaze at the dramatic steep cliffs rising from the freezing Nordic waters.
If you’re environmentally aware and adventurous, choose a hiking trail and admire the enchanting views from the top of the plunging mountains, or take a glacier walk and feel the crunching underneath your spiky ice boots.
But whatever you do, don’t forget to take time out to witness nature’s own special effects: An almost divine encounter awaits all visitors lucky enough to witness the exceptionally beautiful and magical Northern Lights, an extended conversation with Mother Nature herself."
