The State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms. Rikke Lind, attends the Posidonia 2010 Shipping Exhibition this week in Athens.

State Secretary Lind met with the Greek Minister of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping, Ms. Louka Katseli, to discuss issues of common interest to the two leading maritime nations Greece and Norway.
Lind suggested a closer collaboration between the nations in issues like environmentally friendly shipping, more extensive use of LNG fuel and possibilities for further investments.

– This is an important initiative. We can cooperate to maintain our positions as leading shipping nations, especially within environmental issues, research and innovation, Lind said.

Lind will also visit many of the 77 Norwegian maritime companies represented at the exhibition and host a reception in the Hospitality Lounge of the Norwegian Maritime Exporters Association.  In her delegation are among others the Director of the Norwegian Maritime Directorate Mr. Olav Akselsen and the Assistant Director of the Norwegian Ship Register Ms. Anita Malmedal.

The Posidonia shipping exhibition, the world’s biggest of its kind, is held for the 22nd time, from June 7th to 11th at the Hellenikon Exhibition Centre in Glyfada, outside Athens.
