A High Tech Collaboration

Norwegian consultancy company "Computas" and Greek "Space Hellas" recently implemented the visa administration system N-VIS in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs. "We are pleased to collaborate and develop new solutions" says CEO of Computas Trond Eilertsen.

Greece is one of the countries in Europe with most visa applications. As the point of entry for many to the EU, efficient management of procedures for visa application is of high importance.

-Adapting the national visa information system N-VIS to the specific needs of Greece has been a great experience, and I believe that Greece will be able to benefit a lot from this system, says Trond Eilertsen, CEO of Computas

The N-VIS system is based on the Norwegian visa information system Norvis, which was the first system of its kind to be implemented throughout Europe. Norvis, currently used by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had in fact already most of the needed capabilities for the visa information system in Greece.

N-VIS in Greece is now in use as part of the European Union Visa Information System (VIS). As a subcontractor of Space Hellas, Computas supplied and adapted N-VIS to Greek requirements, and supported Space Hellas in putting the system into production on the Athens national node,  the Thessaloniki backup node and the 130 Greek consular authorities situated all over the world.

-The N-VIS system increases the quality of information flowing across boarders in Europe, and makes the visa application process much more streamlined, underlines Lars Erik Evensen of Computas.
