Diplomatic relations between Norway and Greece was established in 1918.

Norway`s establishment of diplomatic connections with other states. From the archive of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Greece:

23.06.1918 the Norwegian Minister in Paris sent a telegram to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the request of the Hellenic League in Paris. There was requested an accreditation for the Greek Minister in Stockholm to Christiania. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ihlen answered the request positively 25.06 1918.

By a Royal Resolution of 06.05.1927 Minister J. Irgens at the Delegation in Rome was appointed as Norway`s first delegate in Athens.

Established as an Embassy with Chargè d`affaires a.i. from 1967-1974, and accredited under the Embassy in Rome until 1974. 

The first resident Ambassador of Norway to Greece was accredited 11.10.1974
