It is well known that the cradle of European culture and the cradle of democracy were both in Greece. This time I wish to commend the work being done by the Norwegian School Associations in Greece and in Cyprus. During childhood one has great abilities for learning languages (we are many who have experienced how that becomes more difficult later in life). For Norwegian children who live abroad it is of value to learn to speak Norwegian, even if it is not widely spoken at home or among friends. Read more

Both Greece and Norway have had parliamentary elections this fall. In Oslo the red-green government could stay on, albeit with a continued slim majority in the Storting. In the birthplace of democracy there has been a change of government. Read more
